A New Chapter for Marex: 11,000 m² Facility Coming in 2027

This is what expansion looks like when you’d rather build than talk.

A new 11,000 m² facility is taking shape at our Kaunas shipyard — purpose-built for larger hulls, smarter production, and the next generation of Marex boats. Alongside the existing 28,000 m² of production space, the new building opens in winter 2027 and represents a €20 million investment in the future of the shipyard.

Here’s what’s going inside:

  • Automated component delivery — Compact Twin vertical automatic warehouses from Weland Solutions, bringing the right part to the right worker at the right moment
  • Solar + geothermal power — a 350 kW solar panel park supported by a 222 kW Viessmann geothermal heat pump for efficient heating and cooling
  • A 50-metre testing pool — the second in the factory, built to accommodate our largest models
  • A dedicated showroom — one place where partners, dealers, customers and press can experience the full Marex range

“For the first time, we’ll have the capacity in Lithuania to build three-deck vessels close to 55 ft. But this isn’t just about space — it’s about building the right infrastructure: hull testing, automated warehousing, a proper showroom, and energy systems that can support it all. A smart factory, built for what comes next.”
Saulius Pajárskas, General Manager, Marex Boats UAB

The project is expected to create up to 100 new jobs in the Kaunas region.

We’ve never been the loudest builder on the water. We’d rather invest in the place where the work happens — and let the boats speak for themselves.
